Life Skills Development
At YH Support Services, we understand the importance of developing life skills for individuals with disabilities. Our team is dedicated to providing Development-Life Skills to help our participants achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.
Our Development-Life Skills service includes a range of activities and support to help our participants learn and practice essential skills. This includes but is not limited to:
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Personal hygiene and grooming
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Budgeting and financial management
- Household management and cleaning
- Time management and organization
- Communication and social skills
We work closely with our participants to understand their specific needs and goals, and tailor our support accordingly. Our team of experienced and knowledgeable staff provide guidance, support and coaching to help our participants develop the skills they need to live an independent life.
Our Development-Life Skills service also includes assistance with finding and accessing education and training opportunities. We understand that gaining new skills and qualifications can open up a range of opportunities and we work with our participants to identify and pursue their interests and passions.
We also provide support with accessing community resources and services, such as libraries, adult education centers, and vocational training programs. This allows our participants to continue to develop their skills and gain new experiences in a community setting.
At YH Support Services, we understand the importance of regular reviews and monitoring to ensure our participants are making progress towards their goals. We conduct regular reviews of our participants’ support plans, and make necessary adjustments to ensure they are receiving the appropriate level of support.
In summary, YH Support Services’ Development-Life Skills is designed to assist participants to acquire new skills, knowledge, and qualifications for independent living, and to have access to education and training opportunities. Our team is committed to providing the support and guidance our participants need to develop the skills they need to live an independent life.
